I have a few things in the ground at the moment that I'm worried about, what with possible frost this week. They are Garlic, beetroot seedlings (very new in) and some carrot seeds (just sown today).

The garlic and beetroot beds are netted off (around the outside and on top, I have a lot of critters in my neighbourhood..). So a couple of questions:

1) To prevent frost damage should I fleece around the outside of the netting, or shall I attach some to the top to make a total fleece enclosure?

2) Should I cover the soil where the carrot seeds are planted until the risk of frost has gone for a few days? Or should I cover all day anyway until the seedlings appear?

none of these will be bothered by frost, so don't worry

None of them need fleece... but you might want to net your carrots to protect from carrot fly?

Yeah I was going to fleece around the carrots to protect them from carrot fly, but can I wait until the seedlings appear to do this?
