Rain on my seeds
« on: April 23, 2011, 06:35 »
Planted a load of beetroot and spinach seeds in a propogator yesterday and left on the patio.

Overnight the top blew off and the soil has got soaked by very heavy rain.  Is that the end of my seeds?  Will have been washed away?  Or shall I keep them and see what happens?

I've brought them in now needless to say!

They should be fine, might come up a bit wonky if the raindrops moved them, but nothing worse. :D

And hopefully, they'll germinate within a few days to let you know. :)

Heavy rain?  What's that?!  None for us yet.

I wouldn't be putting beetroot or spinach in a propagator, they'll be fine without anyway, particularly in this weather
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

It's just that we have quite heavy clay soil and lots of weeds!  It seemed easier to propogate and transplant them!  Maybe I'll just go for it and plant them straight into the soil.

It came down by the gallon last night, thunder and lightning and all sorts! :)

Same here! I am jealous that your seedling shave had a drenching, mine are struggling to break through the baked soil!  8)
