Do chickens like almonds?

Olive tree has gone to the great olive grove in the sky and I thought I would try my paws at something that actually likes the Great British Weather.

So I thought that a sweet almond tree would be nice. Lovely blossom and sweet almonds in autumn.

But they fall to the ground when ready.

So ...

I'm almost sure chicks would not be able to penetrate the shell...

My hens haven't managed to crack the shells and have no interest in them as food.

almonds are said to have cyanide in them so that might be why they don't eat them
