So I've replaced them with with a couple of white jasmines and a couple of deutzia shrubs (well currently twigs!)

I hope to get another couple of passifloras towards the end of april, and I may try them in a more sheltered space.

Other than that, I over bought a couple of clematis lat year, and they never got put in the ground, and nece died a very nasty death... but I never got around to throwing them out, and knock me down with a feather, they've put up shoots!  Now i have to find a space or two for them :D

I had the same thing happen with clematis - didn't get planted for ages, looked dead, and when I tossed the soil into the garden, the healthy roots surprised me so I planted them and they grew beautifully the next year.

And definitely find sheltered areas for the passifloras as well as mulch the roots in early winter because colder winters are expected in future.
