My cockerel Buff Orpington has started to get these really quill like feathers on his head they are very hard.  Any ideas why is it normal please?

They are new feathers growing slowef.  The birds will preen the covers off as the feathers grow.

Oh, ok silly me :oops:  I have never seen it before in any of my other youg cock birds, or maybe he justs gets more cuddles :D

If they are slow to disappear, try putting a littel vegetable oil in with your chickens feed :D
