hi all, i have 3 brahmas that started to hatched in the incy at about 8 oclock this morning, but havent got any further yet, is this normal ??   there is just a small hole and a tiny bit of shell has come off.  ive hatched other chicks before but ive not had any take this long to come out.

Im no expert am only just had my third hatch.  I had a chicken pip on monday morning 7.30am and did not hatch until the tuesday morning early hour.  I have found with my little experience that some takes absolutely ages and others are quite quick.  One thing I have noticed is they usually come out through the night when im sleeping although I have been sitting all the day before watching them hoping to capture the amazing moment.  I wish you luck and hope they are all ok.  Let us know. x

It can take longer than 24 hours after first pip to hatchng!

Some go very fast (like 30 mns!) the longest I've had, without assistance, is 36 hours.

mine took ages strated friday morning came sat night at 11pm!!

We had one recently that pipped on a Saturday afternoon but didn't hatch until the early hours of Monday morning so hang on in there!!! Fingers crossed.

Hi did it hatch ok? i`m having the same thing one piped at 9am and was out by 3pm another piped at 4pm hatched at 11pm but the one that piped between these two is still no further forward the next day, taking a lot of determination not to help it but i`m leaving it to get on with it, can still see movement so fingers crossed

yes, all went well in the end. they didnt hatch out till later the next afternoon-evening so had been well over 24 hours. hope your are ok x x

Ahh brillliant mine hatched out ok as well after about 25 hours, what a stressful time!
