Interesting this!

I found a sealing-wax seal in our garden a few years ago.

It was clearly ages old, and I've kept it and researched it (the image was unique), and think it was an 'Oddfellow's seal!

We've got loads of bits of clay pipe stems here too!

we have a pub in our town call the oddfellows down by the river its been there for ever .
had the grandson over all day e brought his metal detector when he found out i found some money so i had to make it interesting so i salted te dig with some copper coins and 50 pences now and again he was thrilled when he found a penny hes coming back today .
looks like all the bricks are out now jus the rubble and bits the soil looks quite nice although 3 foot down its a bit heavy .
maybe we should start a thread on the things you find digging on the plot

Evening Springlands,

It is a fascinating subject, and I'll put together the story with a couple of pics as well, when I've got a moment!

Sounds good - only there are not too many free moments in the growing season  :D :D
