while we are on the topic, has anyone ever come in contact/had birds suffer with conditions such as marek's or newcastle diesase etc?  if so, are they really obvious?

I always like to see pictures of things. Says so much more than words.  Your silkie sounds as though he has had an eye infection probably for quite a while which had damaged the eyes.  If he can see well enough to eat drink, scratch about and b**k will you keep him on ?

only if he doesn't b**k!  :wink: he's no problem. would only get rid if he was infectious to others.  they have enough space to run in without intefering with each other, so all good.
