On a scale of neighbour annoyance lol! The four chicks who landed on my doorstep have shown me a whole new experience.

They gaggle morning noon and supper time. If you stay where they can see you they really go for it.  I do not need a cockrel to upset my neighbours lol

Mine i am giving a 6 as the peacocks down the road are still louder

Mine are much quieter since we moved house and barely make a noise now unless they are being irritated by pigeons, cat or next door's dog which they can see through the hedge

When they were attacked by a fox they made the most appalling blood-curdling cries which was very good in that we were alerted immediately

Maybe they will quieten down once they've got used to their new surroundings

I've got 9 cockerels at the minute and some have taken to roosting out in the barns.  They are doing full-on crowing all night and start the others off in the hen houses .   

But the prize here must go to the Guinea Fowl, also out roosters.  I've only got 2 but the racket they make takes some beating. :blink: I've done a silly thing as well and asked the friend who breeds Guineas to let me have some more fertile eggs

Luckily we have no near neighbours  :happy:

likewise my 3 guineas are far noisier than the 6 cockerels put together

Dont have a cockerel but my neighbour does. Now he makes the most noise, because he is a cockerel, but louder than my hen who shouts after laying an egg is questionable    When they are donig it in harmony then

I take it you are talking about the Silkie crosses?  Oh yes they can be loud.     Gladys started at 7am this morning. "BokbokbokBOWWWKK" I flew out of bed and let them out and she started again. She was standing at the door of the henhouse annoucing that Cilla had laid an egg.    A happy mother's day pressie for me.

Aw, they are funny aren't they    Not when you'd like a lie-in though.  My husband got mine up and out today for me so I could have tea in bed as it was Mother's Day
