Dandelions are a diuretic, another name for them is "wee a lot", so if you do try them don't be surprised if you find yourself running to the loo a lot more. :D

(took the words out my mouth  ;)) and the milky juice from the stems can be put onto spots and blemises to aid healing.

In French they are pissenlit (which is literally, ahem, "wet" the bed)... less commonly they are known as dent-de-lion (lion's tooth) - which is, I guess, where our "dandelion" comes from

Milkthistle, nettles, groundsel......

When we looked after my friend's girlies, we used to walk up the garden via the veg patch, gathering an armful of huge milkthistle plants and the whole lot, roots included, was demolished by the time we went back to  shut them in!!

Looking forward to having a dual reason for pulling weeds from our own veg patch this year!
