Ruby, one of our Ambers, has gone broody we've just found her sitting on 12 eggs with another 10 or so lying in front of her

Can these eggs be eaten or should they be binned?

There's no chance they're fertilised as the only cockerel we had was locked up with the poots.

crack them into a bowl before using each one just to be safe. If it looks and smells ok then use it.

I thought so, it's was we did when they made a nest in the tree and we found a dozen or so

Evie -we do the water test if in doubt about any eggs. Get a large bowl and fill it with water. Drop the eggs in one at a time - any that float are bad. Rest should be OK.
