That's Gracie gone
« on: March 15, 2011, 17:33 »
Just got home from work and she was lying on henhouse floor.  She was scratching about yesterday quite happily but when I brought her in last night to spray the cyst things, another 2 had appeared.  When I went to let them out in the blizzard this morning none of them moved but thought it was because the weather was so bad and the other 2 are broody, so just left them to it.  Wish I had moved them now.  Boo hoo  :( :(

Thanks everyone for their thoughts, and am trying not to be upset but putting things into perspective, I have a new grandchild being born tonight (hopefully) and compared to whats happening in other parts of the world, I am very lucky that all I have to worry about are my chickens.

Oh what a shame  :(  You tried your best to help her but sounds like it was her time to go.  Don't beat yourself up too much.  She had a lovely happy life with you  :)

So sorry to hear you lost Gracie  :(  You did what you could to make her well, and at least her last days were happy ones

I know there are terrible things going on in the world but it's only right that you should feel upset over a death of a pet  :)

So sorry to hear about Gracie. It's awful coming to terms with the loss of a pet.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

I am so sorry to learn of Gracie's passing.  Hope your new grandchild brings you much joy.
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!
