A lovely couple of hours...
« on: March 27, 2011, 18:26 »
...spent today in the sun.  We got a few stones up, we got our bean trench dug, saw lots of allotmenteers enjoying themselves, but the highlight for me was rescuing a drowning bee from a water butt  :)

Its days like today where your glad to be a gardener :D :D :D :D
If you want to be happy for a short time - get drunk.

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

Whereas I spent four hours digging up couch grass from my new veggie bed. I've now got aches where I didn't know I had places :)

I spent 7.5 hours at work, covering the reception desk for most of it. But how nice was it to have a few hours in the garden making the pergola after work.
Thanks
Kris

Sounds like you all had a good weekend.  :) I havent done much in my garden this weekend, but am remembering the relaxing feeling from the other day. As you say, a lovely couple of hours. :)

Should be able to get a couple of hours in in the evenings getting in from work as well now.  I have to get the beanpoles up next.  That, I anticipate will not be quite so much fun.  Last year was our first year and someone did it for us.  Don't want to ask them again..

You cant beat a few hours in the sun it does wonders for your mindset, and I love the West coast of Ireland when the clocks change as last night it was nearly 8.30 when turned dark
Stop food waste, pick your own fresh every day
