Blasted mice!
« on: February 25, 2011, 09:19 »
A mouse made its home in amongst a couple of bags of grass seeds and all my vegetable seeds!  >:(

It seems to have completely eaten the sweetcorn and had a nibble on most other things.

Lesson - put seeds in quality street tin from now on!

:D You're just looking for an excuse to buy a tin of chocolates,  and I bet the mice pinch all the purple ones    :D

I think jonewer needs to do a proper scientific experiment.   ;) ;)

Buy two tins of chocolates and enough seeds to fill both - then an experiment can be run on whether a Quality Street tin or a Celebrations tin keeps the seeds better from the mice.   ???

Plus you get to eat two tins of chocs and buy more seeds!Win win!!!!

Where does your naughty mouse live?

If it's in your shed I don't think that's a great place for storing seeds, even in a tin (too much temperature variation.)

A cool dry place inside the house would be better.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

We killed six last week in our cold frame after noticing some of the chits on our potatoes had been nibbled. Not a nibble since! Hoorah! :D

It was actually in an old set of drawers in the garage... He got to some of my malt also!

Had a stern word with the cat too. Told him to buck up his ideas, sharpen his pencils and pull his socks up, at which he promptly licked his bum.
