Does anyone have both chickens and guinea fowl together? Is is a good or bad combination??

Joyfull has some GF but some of them hated the chickens, but I think she hatched a couple and they grew up with the chickens, but she will probs be on here tomorrow and will tell you more, but I think generally, not a good idea.

Hi, yes I have 3 guineas with my chickens and like my original two they have their favourite hens (they prefer dark coloured whereas my original preferred lighter coloured hens). These 3 are ok towards humans (unlike my other 2 who were very nasty attacking anybody who turned their backs on them) but they will sometimes have a go at some of the smaller chickens. They ignore the true bantams (Sabelpoots and Belgium's) but dislike the bantam silkie crosses and araucanas. Whilst they are funny creatures and easy to keep (mine live in the trees) they are very noisy so no good with neighbours and in light of their aggressiveness towards some chickens I wouldn't keep them again. They do not become tame like chickens although they will eat feed from next to me they won't eat out of my hands.

I have 2 gangs of about 25 GF with my chickens, it is only now and then that any trouble breaks out.

We had 2 guinea fowl with 9 chickens and a cockerel.  We've not experienced any problems between them.  In fact, we think the guinea fowl now believe they are chickens!
