Do Securicor chicken-sit?
« on: April 04, 2011, 16:12 »
Another day and another bit of quality time with the oxyacetylene torch.  >:(

Back garden now resembles Colditz with almost no grass (left) and more wire on the perimeter than the SS thought possible.  :(

Still the little darlings find a way out!

The proposed move to the rough ground went pear-shaped the moment they were spotted traipsing happily down the footpath that runs alongside. Unfortunately I can't find the hole they all seem to know about. AND I'm off on holiday next week. And I have some very attractive scratches from fetching about in the undergrowth.

If they're not good tomorrow the run's going up. They won't like it, but needs must ...

PS Can anyone explain to me why I fantasize about more?

It's amazing how they do it.  My hubby thinks it's halarious that I keep getting out-smarted by a bunch of backyard chickens.  >:(  I think he secretly admires them for their escaping skills and wouldn't mind finding their secret tunnel and running away too sometimes.  ::)

Not just me then?

Phew!

So far they've remained where they're put. I mean, they've a whole back garden to roam around in and lots of junk to explore. (To think I was worried about it being overgrown last year. Now I'd be grateful to return to some grass.)

I've got some netting on order for the waste ground, once that's up and the hedge planted, I'll be letting them loose. But not as loose as they want.
