My chickens never cease to amaze me.  The OH cleaned out the coop for me yesterday.  It was getting dark and I was thinking about going up to the chx to tuck them in etc., when there was a tap,tap,tap on the patio door.  I thougth nothing of it, until it happened again.  I looked through the glass to see 2 chickens standing there, expectantly.  I went outside and up the the coop where I found that the HO had left the ramp up.  I let it down and off they went to bed!!!  Bearing in mind our garden is 80 metres long - don't you think perhaps they would have found a safe place to roost instead of coming all they way back down?  I do  to myself when I think of the initiative!

Thats fab.  Only had mine 2 days but they prefer to be next to patio window and l keep getting my attention.

1 of ours often attempts to get in the conservatory even though the door is closed, you'd think after a few attempts of flying into it that she would give up!

Your hens must have figured out that you are the ones that take care of the hen house and so too sort problems out too!

Sounds like that "mu-u-u-um" noise frm the human babies that you can't help reacting to even when they're old enough to sort themselves out!!
