Actually a bluebelle to bluebelle cross could definitely make a colour like this... the red bleeding through in her neck would be a throwback from the gold cockerel (probably RIR) used to "make" the bluebelle in the first instance.

According to my new book as regards telling the age of a bird, the foot is smaller in pullets with tighter scales, scales on older birds look rougher epecially between the toes and the foot.  Spreading the wings will also show if the bird is aged between 4-6 months old as the first wing tip will be pointed in a young hen, but rounded in a mature bird, that's all I can find about hens, with cocks its easier apparently as the spur is a good indicator of age.

would the bluebell bit explain the light coloured legs, as my Bluebells legs are alot darker?
