Hi all, been really busy up loppy and have now got a problem with my raspberries not sure if anyone has asked but when do I start cutting out the dead wood and the canes that have given me fruit this year.  I hope everyones ok and sorry that I'm still asking silly questions thank you all so much :?

0k im old school on this stuff .start to cut em off as soon as they finish fruting cut em all down to ground level n leave 6 of the new canes the best looking and thickest ones  chop away any new shoots from anywhere on the bases chuck some manure over em  ,not touching the canes. the more ya chop off the better the cropnext year

thank you on the way up to allotment to get cutting.  Might take awhile as have 2 rows of them.

I have only managed to cut half of first row now sitting with a pair of tweezers trying to get rid of hairy thorny thingys that are on the raspberries.  Lovely fruit but terribly itchy now and only more of the same to come.

That sounds good wonder what the pay would be like.  Back to loppy today to try and do the rest of the canes inbetween children shouting for me.  Blast the summer holidays
