Apparently the French grow them up canes.  There was a lady on The Big Dig programme who made a tent of 4 canes and she said they took up less space that way.

I grow mine on the ground, but when its very wet, I sometimes put a brick or something under the fruits that are on the ground so they don't rot.  They take up a fair amount of room!

If your ground has been manured prior to planting, they will not need much feeding - if any at all. They are quite greedy plants, and I tend to feed them with a nettle tea about once a week.

I grow mine on top of my compost heap, so they don't need feeding.  Must also remember next year, to only plant 2 plants!!!  OH has decided he doesn't like courgettes, so its only me and the dog and I give some to my friend whose plants died.

So I really didn't need the 9 that I kept!!!!! lol

My courgettes produced a first flush of fruit...now nothing!  whats going on?
