I have bought a packet of Horseradish root from Wilkos.  Should I plant it and if so what should I expect as yield and also space taken up?

Horseradish's deep roots won't do well in pots, so best in the ground. But once in the ground, it will be there forever so decide carefully where you don't mind it permanently situated and occasionally taking over. The yield from 5 roots will soon be a lot.

I think it should be in a container, and one with a concrete slab under it, otherwise the O/P will never get rid of it!

I have my horseradish in a small wooden crate about 2 feet deep, and roughly an area 18 inches square, raised off the ground with bricks and it is fine
