Growing in a big pot in a hot greenhouse; my orange tree was
looked after every day, watered when needed.
It was growing well until one day I noticed
what I thought were fresh roots 2 inches above the soil line.
 So I thoght it was asking for more soil. I gave it
another 2 inches of compost, watered it well and next day.........
 :twisted:  :evil: all its leaves were shrivelled up
 and the next day gone :!:
vanished.
Help :!: Any  :idea:
What might have happened?

Well I think I will lift it to see what its roots look like,
or should I just leave it be and see what happens?

You hadn't been using the same watering can to apply weedkiller had you?   Even that would be unlikely to defoliate in 2 days - unless it was Agent Orange of course - Ha!
