pet safe water repellent

i have tried a quick search but and went to pets at home, i have a wooden roof on the coop and run so would like to get some safe water repelent / varnish for the wood. any recommendations??

If it is just wood, then you need yatch varnish. This will seal and move, but is rather expensive. For the roof, could you put a plastic sheet over it? Then you could unscrew it and treat to prevent red mite whenever you wanted.

Personally I'd go for a good quality waterbased shed/fence paint. Low voc which means no nasty odours will also dry quick be safe for animals and easy clean up too.
Ronseal or Cuprinol Ducks back.

I use ordinary Cuprinol - when I read the back of the Ducksback tin it said not safe with animals :)

Ordinary Cuprinol used to have a bat safe sign on it - meaning ok for other ani,mals as well - i :(t doesn't now though!
