guinea fowl do not become tame, they will tolerate you but do not like being handled. Mine sleep in my trees and are fairly quiet when they see me but if anybody else approaches they make a noise. They will choose one or two hens to hang around with and can become very possesive over these hens stopping anybody or other bird getting close to them. They feed on the same as the hens and are great scavengers (which is why they are also known as gleaners). Are the ones you are getting males or females? The first two I got were very aggressive and you couldn't turn your back on them as they would attack and they drew blood very frequently (they are no more - although we did try cooking one but he was too old and very tough).
Apart from that they are funny and quirky - I just hope you have no close neighbours
