    Don't think I could get into the eglu, at least not while there's a hen in there.

I only have two hens and they both lay different coloured eggs.

as Aunty said different breeds lay different colours and sizes of eggs  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Well it does make it much easier if your hens lay different coloured eggs.

However, even in run of the mill brown eggs, each hen will consistently lay the same "type" of egg.  for instance, one of my old girls used to lay eggs which had faint grey calcium spots on them, another used to lay eggs which seemed to be "waxy" and Ginger used to lay enormous white eggs with huge calcium build ups on them (mainly because she was never meant for egg laing, and her insides never really gog the hang of it peroperly :( )

I'm fine- only have two adult girls and one has babies!  but yes, if they are different breeds then the eggs will look different

I get one dark brown egg one "normal colour egg " and one White egg so it's easy to tell and differant colour eggs look great togetheri just want blur eggs now  :D

I keep an eye on who goes in the house during the day, and collect the eggs after they have come out so I have got to know who is laying what type of egg.

I always know when Aggie lays an egg, she hasn't read the dictionary definition of egg-shaped - hers are nearly round! But then she's a nearly round hen with a nearly round comb and a nearly round head. What more could I expect?

You get to know over time, cos you will notice who's just come out, and therefore who has laid the egg that's still warm.
I'm not aboslutely certain with mine, but have a good idea because of colour, shape etc.  Though mine are ex-batts, so do tend to produce some fairly 'original' samples!
