my blubelle yesterday laid two eggs one imedetly after the other at least I think thad what happened as when I went to get her eggs there were 3 one dark brown ( not hers ) and two lighter eggs both were what I call still bum warm  :D is this unusual she hasn't had a day off before or since and both eggs were perfectly formed. has anyone else had this ?

do you not have another hen who lays a similar colour? It could have warmed up when she sat on it to lay hers.

No. Only have 3 hens one White eggs but moulting so not anymore one dark brown which was there and then the bluebell who lays a "normal" colour egg and it wasn't from the day before because I have that egg and I date them as I put them away strange could she have had 2 in the pipe line that close together?

I've had two in one day before, but it was one in the morning and one in the evening, about 9 hours apart.  Did she lay the day before?
