i tried planting strawberries in the milk containers as sugested on here,but i find the bottom half fills up with water and the rot,,any one else had this

Did you use drainage holes?

but from what i thought i read  the outer part was to hold water,,,if not, why use the 2 parts of the milk container,  lol

Like anything growing in pots, you have to be careful that they don't stand in water....it's just been so horribly wet lately.

I have to keep emptying all the saucers under the flower pots on the patio, so i suppose you need to do the same with the bottom halves. They are useful for when it's dry but a pain when it's soooo wet
