Wow Jim now I'm confused, lets start from scratch

1) the website is www.bestsmileys.com

2) select category eg fire

3) now what I see is  a column with images on the right hand side opposite each image is a tag or whatever it's proper name is and it should look like this [img]http://bestsmileys.com/fire/2.gif is this what you see ? ( don't try to copy this one on here as I've altered it slightly so you can see the wording of the tag.)

Copy the whole of this and paste that into your reply text.

4) if your not sure use your preview button and you should see it.

Just one thing at the bottom of the "post a reply " box  your've not got  the "disable smilies in this post" box ticked have you ?

Well, I dont really know how but if I've got it Thank you very much for your help and patience.
Do I have to go to the web site each time?
The other thing I got from your first link installed a Smilie Central button on my Windows explorer window. That was what gave me all that other stuff which did not work :?
