Frozen Potato Tops

The frost hit my Christmas potatoes, froze the greenery and now they've died. :(

What are the chances of my potatoes still growing underneath?  I don't want to dig about just in case I do more harm than good.

The potatoes should be ok underground but won't grow any bigger...........so lift them and use them if they are big enough.

I always say that Christmas spuds are very hit and miss..........This year is a miss, unless they are in buckets in the greenhouse.........but even then there's no guarantee
if the blight don't get them the weather does :(

Just a new way for the seed suppliers to make money IMO

Thanks for this information.  I've never done these potatoes before but may try in buckets next year and I like the idea of extending the use of my old greenhouse more.

Will be digging them up tomorrow and will let you know the results. :D

I've had a bit of success with buckets of potatoes in greenhouse, but even then one year the winds were so bad they smashed the glass and the broken shards tore the tops of my spuds, so you can't win!   :(
