hi all,
i planted cabbages back in the summer when i first got my plot, i have harvested a few that were a nice size but there a still quite a few that are a bit small, how long will they last through the frosts of november? i know they wont get any bigger now, so should i harvest them all now, or leave them in and pick as i needed.

At this time of year the ball head ones will start to get a bit mushy round the edges (a touch of frost and dampness) and slugs & snail will have a field day.  They'll keep quite a surpringly long time in the fridge - take off the outer leaves and any other damaged ones too.  If you have somewhere cool to store eg a garage or shed, they are supposed to be alright but to be honest, I've not been too successful (mine in the past have gone a bit "musty" - possibly due to being a bit damp when they went into storage)

I'm eating mine as I need them but they are covered with Enviromesh to keep off the worst ravages of the pigeons/rabbits/pheasants/deer etc    I'm hoping they'll stand ok
You win some you lose some. You could always get them prepped and frozen
