hi, i've just got some strawberry plants through the post, they are a hanging basket type, at the moment they are in 3 inch pots, just wondered what to do with them now, should i put them in the baskets and leave in greenhouse over winter or repot them into bigger pots?, best wishes, matt

It depends on how much root system they have. If it is small, I'd leave them - if they are filling the pot, I would repot into a slightly bigger pot. They are very hardy so you could just sink the pots in the ground outside, or leave in the greenhouse then plant in your baskets for an earlier harvest.

I put mine into pots which sit in a very shallow tray (almost a tea tray) then sit them out in the garden in all weathers.  As long as they are not waterlogged (hence the shallow tray) they seem to do fine (even under a foot of snow like last winter)
