sorry but all can be noisy, bantams may be small but most have a shrill high pitched voice. I have about 10 cockerels of various breeds and ages but strangely only 2 crow - if they get disposed of then I am sure the next in line will start to crow.
Staffies are softer than you think.

We had 2 cockerels who crowed incessantly, day and night, they were re-homed before the neighbours complained to the council :(  Real beauties they were :(

The only quiet cockerel is a dead one.  My Orloff cockerals must be "One Foot in the Grave " fans because when they see me their crow sounds like

"Victor Mel - Drrrrooooow!!
Victor  Mel - Drrrooooow !!".

I've also got 10, they're all 26 weeks old so you'd think they'd be crowing by now.  But only one of them crows a lot, another crows a little, the others nothing.  It never occurred to me about the pecking order, but the crower is definitely Top Man, and one that I gave away, a non crower, began to crow as soon as he arrived at his new home, where he's the only cock.  so I think Joyfull's right.

if you have cocks and cockerels running together please be aware that they may have the occasional fight in spring where some younger cockerels may try and usurp the top cock to become the top boy and have first dibs at the girls  ;)

Thanks, Joyfull.  I hope to get the numbers well down by spring.  Got some pairs for sale on the internet as we speak.

We have a Jersy Giant cock; he crows a few times in the morning (as you would expect) and then only a handful of times throughout the day.

We've had him for about a month now and no-one has complained - yet!  ;)
