Prawn Crackers?
« on: October 01, 2010, 18:36 »
Just gave the girls a prawn cracker between them to see if they liked it.  It was hilarious watching them chasing each other round the garden trying to keep it to themselves.  Think it was on a par with meal worms.  Are they too greasy to give to them often?

wouldn't have thought there was any nutrition in them and they are very high in calories.
Staffies are softer than you think.

Have read that mealworms have no nutritional value but wont give them any again.  Don't want them to get fat. Suppose they're not allowed Quavers either Ha Ha  :D :D :D

you just have to be careful of the fat content of things - they do like rice (boiled not egg fried though  ::)) and spaghetti  :)

:D :D :D ha ha.  Ok nothing greasy. Usually only give them fresh fruit and veg.  They didnt seem bothered when I gave them boiled rice but did like the wee bit of ghetti (especially the sauce  ;)).  Thanks joyfull.

Mind you - if they run about that much fo ra prawn cracker at least they are getting plenty of exercise so I'm sure one or 2 wouldn't do that much harm.  I ate a pile of them last night and I certainly didn't run about after to burn the calories off.  However that's probably why I weigh 2lb more than I did yesterday morning!   :(

Although meal worms have a highish fat content they are high in protein too.

Typical Analysis: Protein 36%, Crude Fat 18%, Fiber 7%, Moisture 9% • High in protein, fat, and potassium
