hi and welcome to the site  :).
how long have you had your birds for?
most birds respond to bribery so you could try getting them to come to you when you have some mixed corn or meal worms (only give them a small amount as these are considered treats), they will then associate you and their treats container as time for treats and soon all you will have to do is appear shaking the container (or calling the same words at the same time as giving this treat works just as well). Before long as soon as they see you they will come running and try to trip you over to get some nice treats  ::).
Staffies are softer than you think.

As Joyfull says... With mine when they out on the plot as soon as they see or hear the shed door open they charge (faster than Husain Bolt person) over, they know where the feed and treats are kept.
I have mine so trained now that when I whistle they just come charging over as they know some scratch has been tossed in the run.

I call out " bok, bok, bok, bok, bok"  This means come here now  :D

They are very good and always obey.  It only works though if you have a lovely treat such as a mealworm or a tomato.

Just need to shake mealworm tub and mine run very very fast.  In fact only need to shake anything and they run thinking I've got mealworms and only had them 17 days.  Got 2 wee eggs today. Bless them.

My older girls are very good at getting back into the run but my newer ones are b****rs. We get all bar one in, open the door for the last one and they all run out again! Now I only let them out in the garden for the last 2 hours of daylight and as soon as it gets dark they all put themselves to bed, so much easier.

A shake of the magic mealworm tub does it every time with my lot   ;)  Although grapes off the grape vine - tiny and sour to my taste - chickie nirvana as far as they are concerned are a close second at the moment
