Could anyone tell me if it is to early to dig up raspberry canes and blueberry bushes at the moment and move them, or is it best to wait till about Nov/Dec time.

I would wait until they are dormant.

I inherited a square of 1x1 m with a dozen or so crowded in.  They're now dormant (and, even if they weren't ready, they were 'encouraged' by recent gales), so I've trimmed them to knee level and prepared a line along the wall for transplanting in a few days.

Mine in Kent are still in full leaf so I would imagine that ian1's in London will be too, so wait a while Ian.  Scotland is a cald and drear place - I should know

I was amazed to find a foraging site of brambles.  I hadn't seen decently fruiting bushes on the north side of Caithness before, although there are some excellent sites around Helmsdale.
