Too late for brooding?
« on: September 22, 2010, 10:16 »
After an unsuccessful attempt earlier this year one of my light sussex (Bianca) has just become broody.  I would love her to hatch a clutch of chicks but I think it is too late in the year.  Do people think I should wait until next Spring ?

Personally I would wait until March time, the chicks won't hatch until mid October and then it can be rather chilly  :(
Staffies are softer than you think.

I would leave it untill the spring. It is getting colder now and it would not be a good start for chicks.

Thanks folks,  :) that is rather what I suspected  (sigh!)  On with the anti-brood measures then.
