Sitting out in the garden last week I had the cat on my lap and the 8wk old chick perched on my arm no trouble

 .... until the chick got interested in the white hairs on the cat......

My father in law rescued an orphaned shell duck and a local cat would regularly climb into the run to sit with it and even ate the duck's layers pellets.

my cat would take our chickens as a tasty treat, no kidding. it brings us a squirrel, lizard, bird, less than a couple hours old birds, and eggs(not from our chickens-there only 13 weeks)
