I'm a firm Anna Schwartz fan. This is the second year we've grown them and they're big, easy (2-3 big fruit on vines i did nothing to all year bar some tomato food once in a while) they were super tasty last year and kept for ages.

I've also grown burgess vine from real seeds which were also good but not quite so amazingly good, and this year I have blue banana (not blue yet ) and invincible to try.

Squash lady on the plot nearby mine, btw, recommended sprinter as the butternut strain to go for, and she gets lots of big squash every year it seems.

Kermit, You should be able to grow Spaghetti squash in Perthshire, as I have no problem growing them in Scotland.
I too would be interested in vegimans results in Shetlands, as I am trying to help someone in Wick who was hoping to grow Squash.
