Anybody in my area know where my allotment association can get hold of a bulk load of manure? And or mushroom compost? we are in the Bath, Frome, Shepton Mallet area.

have you tried freecycle?
trade-it website?
those are the place I would like to look at. I got lead from freecycle 3-4 places where I can go and dig as much as I want (beware of aminopyralid problem mentioned in one of the recent threads)

Don't have any riding schools or other horsey places nearby? They're bound to have plenty, and will likely be glad to get rid of it.
