Help! Disease in tomato plants...
« on: August 28, 2010, 10:55 »
Hi - I planted some tomatoes in pots in May which now have plenty of green fruit on them. A few have ripened, only to be covered with a nasty black/brown disease on the bottom. The rest of the plants + the unripened toms appear in good health, so I don't think it's blight - maybe it's buckeye fruit rot.

Please can anyone suggest how to save the rest of my toms before the same fate befalls them?!??!?!?

Thanks!

That's blossom end rot, as a result of irregular watering :(

At some stage of their development they didn't have enough water at the roots to get enough calcium from the compost/soil.

Now the temperatures are lower any new fruits should be ok, as long as they never go dry :)
