Summer squash - a big one!
« on: July 24, 2010, 20:34 »
At least I think its a summer squash - thats what the seed packet said but the in the picture it looked much smaller that  what I have grown.  I have a summer squash the size of a Honey Dew melon   I don't know how to cook it - can I steam , or roast it or fry it.  Will it taste like a squash or more like a corgette????It is the first time I've grown it - they were free seeds. Oh - what is the best way to store it?

Sorry to ask so many questions but please help  - thanks

Cook it the same way you would a courgette. :)
Cheese makes everything better.

Cut into wedges roast with some chilli flakes crushed fennel & coriander seed. Or make soup?

Lovely tucked alongside a roasting chicken too  :D

You can leave the skin on until you are ready to eat the flesh -- easy peasy  ;)
