A tiny few of mine also had pea moth maggots. Theyve gone in the compost bin. The can't do any harm

Mine had some too and I just threw them straight in -- reckon something will eaither eat them up or they'll be decimated by the rot

I had one or two in my pods (in fact, one of them was boiled when I was blanching - they may give my peas a bit of "taste", but other than that, they went straight into the compost.  The plants themselves, I have thrown them in a trench, on my potatoe patch, and they'll have soil thrown over them, so they can compost over winter, the same as I do with my beans when they've finished beaning :D

You can't see them from the outer pod

Once opened, there's usually a hole in the pea, and/or the maggot itself can be seen. Sometimes there's fluffy mould in there too.

In the years I've grown peas, this is the first time I've had them, and hardly any at all. Don't let them put you off, it's just one of those things - like slugs at the bottom of the lettuce  :D

I must agree with other replies. Never let an odd grub or two put you off in fresh food - it is the consequence of not spraying and is a small price to pay. But as they say there is only one thing worse than finding a grub -- that is finding half a grub and wondering where the other half went.
Happy podding

Best to grow mangetout, or for me this year, sugarsnaps and then eat them on autopilot whilst watching the TV. Delish, and what the eye doesn't see..............!
