small soft eggs
« on: July 10, 2010, 07:59 »
why is my young light sussex laying very small soft eggs and not in a hay filled nesting box. i have had two eggs now a few days apart both very small and both soft shelled. i am not too worried but is this normal with young birds, i believe they are about 20weeks.the other two hens arnt laying at all yet. also i cooked up some pots and brocolli but they didnt seem interested. is this because they may not be used to this sort of food yet.?. its all very nerve wracking isnt it. i am very new to this hen keeping thing so any tips would help.

my girls don't like potatoes or broccoli, but they love sweetcorn, bananas and tomato seeds
Staffies are softer than you think.
