Lupins gone over
« on: July 02, 2010, 09:52 »
Here's a pic of my Lupins,or rather whats left of them. The seed pods are the point of this photo because lots of people on the allotment want them for a big show next season. My question is;how do I best store the seed?

I wouldn't say I was the best manager for the job,but I would say I'm in the top one! (Brian Clough)

I wait until the pods start to go brown, pick them and spread them on some screening to finish drying. If left too long on the plant, the pods will spring open and seeds will fly everywhere. Once the pods are well dried, the seeds can be gathered, stored in a small envelope or brown paper bag, and kept in a cool dry place.
