Tomatoes and potatoes are in the same family and look alike.  A potato develops fruit that looks like a tomato.  Just don't try to eat it.
Cheese makes everything better.

This was definetly a tomatoe on the top.I did a project on this years ago with the Rhs but at the time i had'nt seen one until last year.Apparently during the war to save space they tried to make the plant popular but they develop poor potatoes and poor tomatoes so it never took off.

Yes, I know quite a few people who do. This is how the companies get new varieties; and why they insist on getting new seed spuds each year. I grew mine in pots and got the same amount as I usually get in pots using seed spuds.

I germinated mine on kitchen roll, after drying them out [in the corner of the shed] all winter. I planted up the first few to germinate and chucked the rest.

However the original question on here is about grafted tomatoes and potatoes; which produce toms on the top and potatoes on the bottom....not just the fruit of potato plants that look like tomatoes.

You pulling my leg?

I'm new to this but have never heard of a tomato/potato hybrid or a fruit from Potato plants. Are you from another dimension - or is it me?!...

What the hell did I eat for Breakfast?...

Getting paranoid now...

Everyone's looking at me...

Spoooookyyyyy...

 :D

calm down lad......it is all true

Tomatoes can be grafted onto potato roots and potato seed does look a bit like a tomato.
Hardly surprising as they come from the same plant family :)
