I've just popped by the plot on the way home...

The courgette plant with the yellowy leaf has got yellow dots on another leaf.  I can also see it on another plant of the same variety.

The thing is, the plants otherwise look really good and strong and they are fruiting.

I have read the link that AuntSally kindly posted.

Apart from reduced yields and odd shaped fruits it doesnt seem to say anything about not eating the courgettes.  So does that mean you can eat them?

That said I fully understand the need to remove infected plants quickly.

My two courgettes which had one leaf each withe the yellow spots, in two days, hanve developed several more leaves the same, but the fruit is okay.

Hello Penny, we have had exactly the same problem with our courgettes - very similar from the photo you posted, in fact if anything ours were more yellow.   On some plants it was just odd leaves here and there, some of the plants are unaffected, and on one the whole plant was yellow, as were a couple of squashes.   We gave them some epsom salts about two weeks ago and the affected leaves have improved and all the new leaves that are coming through are fine on most of the plants, though one remains very yellow and sorry for itself, though oddly enough it is producing fruit.   It's a bit of a lottery I think!

Update: the "problem" plant is still looking strong as ever and producing fruit.  It's one that produces yellow round courgettes, so I wonder if there is a tendancy for the leaves to yellow as well.  The green bits of the leaf are really good dark green and it looks really healthy. 

In any case I put some chicken manure pellets round it to give a bit of a feed and I'll get hold of some epsom salts.   

None of the other plants seem affected as far as I can see.  Fingers crossed!
