T & M raspberry canes
« on: June 23, 2010, 20:23 »
I bought 3 polka raspberry canes from thompson and morgan and they arrived around april, i promptly planted them in well composted ground with a top mulch of well rotted horse manure.
prob is they have all died despite careful prep and good watering etc.

has anyone else had this? i always thought they were fairly hardy, i can only assume maybe the late frost killed them.
also, is it worth ringing t&m for a refund?

One of my 6 Joan J raspberries did nothing except sit all year as a stalk, but the next spring it was well away. I bet if you scrape some of the bark away near to soil level it will still be green underneath, or scrape at the soil and have a look for new roots.
I would be very surprised if they were totally dead.
Fingers crossed for you
