Incubators - Calibrating Humidity
« on: June 19, 2010, 08:25 »
Hi

Does anyone know where I can can a hygrometer with accuracy of better than 3% without paying silly money?

Most seem to be 5%.

I'm just testing one now against my Brinsea Ova easy 380 EX, + as Brinsea claim to have one of the most accurate hygrometers it will be interesting to compare with. I shall leave it for another 12 hrs then post the result.

Wow that's some incubator.  How much land do you use for that sort of turnover?

There was a constant diferance of 5% RH (reading lower) + 0.6C (reading higher) but for £15 I'm happy with it.

mmm 5%  is that ok do you think?  I mean what would happen if you thought your humidity was 47% and it was only 42%?

My RCom Pro USB which was tested with an expensive gadget before we started my first hatch  :D

Will test the new ones when they arrive (says she impatiently waiting for the doorbell  ::))

Slipped up and ordered an ex-demo 20 Pro USB as the company in Ireland that was supplying my new standard version reckoned they were out of stock.  Was going to cancel but suddenly it was on it's way and the ex-demo already ordered.  The ex-demo company also sold me a new membrane for the second hand one I bought that turned out to be a dud.  Good company to know for advice, repairs, parts etc.

So now the proud owner of 4 R-Com Pro 20's
