That's pretty nasty. Found the slug hiding in the lawnmower (which we keep in the greenhouse) Got hubby to fire it up and obliterate it!

Nice  ;)  It is a man job though, isn't it?   I'm alright at throwing snails onto the road from my garden but a bit squeamish about slugs!

I have a wonderful slug dispatching tool called a "half-moon"! great for slicing the little blighters quickly and cleanly in two.  :)

My OH says its for edging lawns  ::) What a daft idea!!

I can never quite make up my mind about how best to kill the bug*ers. I have tried the nice way with beer but not had a lot of success and also tried to let the garden birds do the evil job for me by putting them on the bird table but they usually scarpered off before the birds got them (do birds actually eat slugs)?
I hate pelllets but do use them when in total despair and have been known to chuck salt on them when they have decimated my seedlings (followed by hasty retreat to kitchen feeling guilty when I see them squirming).

The organic pellets - do not work. The copper bands only worked for the 1st year protecting my hostas - this year no good....do they have to be replaced every year?

I have frogs in the pond I thought they would have gobbled them up for me but I think there are just too many. Whe I see all the dead bodies after I have put pellets down I am always horrified at the amount there are.

That happened to me this year, something snipped off almost every plant in 3 trays of sweet peas. It was definitely a mouse though. Having gorged himself on sweet peas, he then dived into the watering can and committed suicide.

Must have really hated your sweet peas :tongue2:
