Long cane if cordon, 2 or 3 small canes if bush.
Not creative but works for me  ;)

If you have a few sturdy posts I suppose you could bang them in at intervals and tie string lines between them and tie the tomato vines onto them...........I've seen this done for cordon/vine toms......but doubt it would work for bush toms.

I also train my tomatoes up strings, by twisting the cordon around the string, it also saves on all thattedious  tying in.

On your seed packet or plant label it should tell you if your plant is indeterminate (or cordon or vine) or determinate (bushy)
Indeterminate/cordon: this means that it will grow one tall stem with the flower trusses(stalks) growing direct from the 1 stem.
Determinate/bush: They make up their own mind how tall to grow :D ) but they are called bush tomatoes because they do not grow as tall, and have many stems each with a flower truss on.

Hope this helps :)
